So, the problem is:
Code:
T + (X+Y+Z)*C = T
=>
(X+Y+Z)*C = 0
Where:
  • T is the terminal window.
  • C is Ctrl+C.
  • (X+Y+Z) are the windows.
Therefore, either C is 0 or (X+Y+Z) is 0.

I was doing a mathematical analogy. You started with a terminal and the "windows" you only vaguely refer to and then you hit Ctrl+C and you ended up with only the terminal:
Code:
T + (X+Y+Z)*C = T
The idea I was trying to give you is that when I summarized as a mathematical equation the problem you described, there is not only one possible solution, only several possibilities! Where at any one time, only one or both of the following is possibly true:
  1. Either it is "C=0": where there is nothing wrong, because the machine+software did exactly what you told it to do, because you hit the key combination Ctrl+C, which means you wanted to terminate the application.
  2. Or "(X+Y+Z)=0": where either the windows cancelled each other out (X+Y=Z) or they never existed in the first place (0=0).

All of this confusion because:
  1. You did not specify which "windows" were closed.
  2. You did not specify how you started the run and how the windows where started.
  3. You didn't even specify what software you used!
Therefore: either there is nothing wrong or the "windows" never existed in the first place!

i should describe more.
I'm runnig a OF case and some internet pages like gmail and some folders of cases are open too.
Then i want to stop the run and click in its terminal and hit ctrl+c then(sometimes,1 time from each about 10-15 tries) all folders, terminal, internet pages turn closed and logout window is shown.this was occuring two days before each time i was using ctrl+c but after that occurred 2-3 times only.

Hi Ehsan,

Now it's much clearer what happens!

OK, but there is still two missing variables... I mean, still two missing details:
  1. Where exactly do you click with the mouse before using Ctrl+C?
  2. What desktop manager are you using?
    • Are you using the default Unity interface that Ubuntu provides (this one: http://unity.ubuntu.com/ ), or are you using Gnome or KDE or something like that?
Best regards,
Bruno

I click in the terminal of run.
I use Gnome because I found it easier to use than Unity before.

Sorry, I didn't understand... do you mean that you click directly in command+output region of the terminal or in the menu region of the terminal?

Wait, but is it Gnome Shell or Gnome Classic (aka "Fallback Mode")?

That should be the correct use. And Gnome Classic is a good option.

Mmm... then this is very strange... OK, then:
  • Is ParaView open when this happens?
  • Did you install Adobe Flash recently?
  • Did you install or updated anything recently?
  • Did Ubuntu crash recently or were there any power outages or were there any electrical instabilities (unstable lights in the room)?

1)when it happens the logout window displayes, and I start to open everything, yes after log in again paraview works in a case.
2)yes I installed Adobe Flash recently but think this was occuring before that too(I tried to install Adobe Flash long time ago but I don't remember why it didn't work but recently installed again(not sure it works fine or not!))
3) somethings installed but this issue is related to before of it.
4)yes electrical instabilities!I think its the source of error, because I remember the day that this issue was occurring repeatedly the lights were becoming less in light !
it usually takes place not repeatedly(except to some days ago).today it didn't occur at all.

OK, then for now lets hope that the electrical instabilities have not damaged the hard-disk.

First lets check the following:
  1. From the User Menu (upper right corner of the screen), select "System Settings..."
  2. Look for the "Keyboard" named icon on the "Hardware" section and click on it.
  3. Check if the selected orange items for the attached image are the same as the ones your seeing.
  4. If instead of "Ctrl+Alt+Del" you have "Ctrl+C", then this is why it logs out.

As for seeing if the hard-disk is OK, install GSmartControl:
Code:
sudo apt-get install gsmartcontrol
Then from the "Applications" menu, choose: System Tools -> GSmartControl
Then click on the icon for the hard-disk and it should tell you if things are OK or not.

Hi Ehsan,

Then the problem could be with the RAM or CPU. To check the two at the same time, run the following commands:
Code:
sudo apt-get install stressapptest
stressapptest -W --cc_test -M 4500
Where you can replace "4500" for the number of MB fo RAM that your computer has got, but I suggest that you define a value of 500MB or 1000MB lesser than the amount of RAM it has got. And be sure to not run this command while you're running simulations.

Best regards,
Bruno

Fortunately everything seems to be fine, both the CPU and the RAM.

Being slow shouldn't be for very long. It probably had to move a lot of stuff from RAM onto swap (on the hard-disk) and now it'll take a while to move back from the swap to RAM.

My guess is that Firefox or Chromium are using Flash when you do Ctrl+C and for some reason this leads to a crash of the window manager, logging you out. So, try to see if there is one program that when it is open, the system will logout on it's own when you do Ctrl+C.
