Default speed of ripple on water

does anyone know how to calculate the speed at which ripples travel outward and away from the center, after a pebble has been dropped in a body of still water.

It might help if you check the book "Waves In Fluids" by James Lighthill. Page 41 1.8 Ripple-tank simulations. It is a tough reading.Good luck
