Fluent or CFX if Ma >5 ?

Hi,

If I want to simualte a case with Ma >5, which software is better, Fluent or CFX? Or another one? Thanks.

Hi,

I heard that the energy equation is buggy in CFX. This can be tested on an simple throttle where enthalpy should be constant but it's not with CFX.

I repeat: This is what I heard but I haven't tested on my own.

If true, you'd prefer Fluent for Ma > 5

Certainly Fluent is the best, if Ma>5 then it can involve a thicker turbulent BL that SST (code CFX employs) many not be as effective as RNG k-E Method (code Fluent Employs).

Or of course you could use STAR-CCM+ which has got a nice coupled solver and both SST and K-E

Try the following two CFD tools that ESI-CFD offers:
