LU-SSOR Method

When I used Jameson's LU-SSOR method, I found the coeffient of spectral radius was ofen much greater then one,for example 1.8. Only the large value can let the scheme converge. I wonder What is the reason. Thanks!

In SOR the relaxation parameter needs to be greater than 1 and as the resolution increases the optimal value tends towards 2.
