Recommendation of a good poisson solver

Hi,

I was initially using the NSPCG sparse solver for my FVM momentum & poisson eqns. It can solve the momentum eqn very fast. However, I found that the results have some problems with the poisson eqns.

Hence, I am now looking for a new sparse solver package to solve my poisson eqn. I am using structured grids with non-uniform grids. Code is in F90

Is it true that the "fast poisson solvers" (mudpack?) or FFT types are faster than the general iteration solvers?

Hope that someone can recommend a suitable solver based on my requirement.

Thanks!

Oh btw, I forgot to add that I am solving a 9pt poisson eqns.

Thanks

please google: a 9-point multigrid elliptic equation solver "mgd9v"
