hi,

i have developed code for collocated grid method and applied for lid driven cavity, then it is working well. when it is applied "backward facing step channel flow", it is not converging. can anybody help me in this regard.

thank u.

give us more info....

i had similar problems b4.... r u using convective BC?

i also set pressure at exit to zero to make it converge....

hi,

i have developed the code for "collocated grid method", in which i used "RHIE and CHOW interpolation" for calculating the face velocities. when it is applied to the "LID DRIVEN CAVITY", it is working well. Then apllied to "the backward facing step channel flow", (as in Gartling 1990)to test for another benchmark case. It is not converging (it is not diverging also..). the mass residual become constant. it not going less than 10e-3. so plz suggest me in this regard.

how is your computational domain? it cannot be too short in x-direction

i am taking 30 times the step height. i dont think it is the main cause.

I feel that you should check pprime boundary condition properly. Whether you have applied correctly for this problem.

Dear Vishnu, I faced same problem with another problem. I checked the boundary conditions of pprime. And got rid of that. You try to check whether you are applying the BC correctly. Else you can check your grid. Bye Sachin
