how to proceed with implementing wall function approach

Let’s say
I have calculated the Y+ and U+ values at the first node from the wall.
Assume Y+ < 5 therefore Y+ = U+

What is the next step.
Calculate the ‘u’ value from U+ which is u/ut where ut is the friction velocity and substitute the ‘u’ values for calculating the diffusive fluxes of the momentum equation or replace the old value ‘u’ with this new ‘u’ value calculated from U+. .

u need to be updated only from momentum equation. This equation is used to evaluate shear stress at the wall.
