Ground temperature

Hi
I just wonder how to model the ground temperature, when using conjugate heat transfer method in CFD programs to make simulation for the thermal processes (energy simulation) in building. In other words if I use CFD program to make thermal simulation for the building (with CFD simulation) ,how to set the thermal boundary condition at the ground.
With regards

Hello,

Naturally, it depends in the CFD package you use. In Fluent, for example, you can enable the Energy equations and then add Temperature or Heat Flux in the Wall Boundary condition.

It should be straightforward!

Dear Josep ,thank you for your prompt reply ,I know about the energy equation but I ask about the ground (in touch with earth mass) which can`t deal with it as normal wall ?

Assuming that the heat storage capacity of the earth is quite huge, you could go wit a fixed temperature boundary condition.

If this is not accurate enough, your computational domain could encompass the ground to a certain depth.
