Question for COSMOS FLOWORKS Tutorial Charpter 2

Dear Madam or Sir I studied FLoworks (EFD.Lab) tutroial Chapter2 and found one question. How do they specify the Angular Velocity as 100 rad/s for representing swirling factor? I ccheck the parameter for PAPST DC-Axial, Series 400, 405 item. Its RPM is 6000 rpm. Can you show me how to get the Angular Velocity as 100 rad/s?

Strange.

6000 revs/min is 100 revs/sec.

2*pi radians/rev makes 100 revs/sec is about 628.3 rad/sec.

Perhaps there's a misprint. Or (unlikely) you've misread the units.

Let us know what you learn.

Re: Question for COSMOS FLOWORKS Tutorial Charpter

HI,Jim Thanks for your instroduction. I tried to use Floworks to model the EBMPAPST DC-AXIAL Fan Series 400, 405 item. It is alos showed on the Floworks Tutorial Chapter 2.

1. Select the 405 item under the Fan Curves, EFD.Pro Defined, PAPST, DC-Axial, Series 400, 405 item. 2. Expand the Flow parameters item and select Swirl in the Flow vectors direction list. 3. Specify the Angular velocity as 100 rad/s and accept the zero Radial velocity value.

The descriptions listed above are on the tutorial.

I do not understand how he get the 100 rad/s to represent the DC-Axial Fan.

The rpm for EBMPAPST DC-AXIAL Fan Series 400, 405 item is 6000.
