HI I tried to use EFD.Lab to model a DC Axial Fan. How do I implement swirling phenomenon on the DC Axial fan?

Dear OpticDesigner:
Swirl flows out of a fan can be implemented by setting tangential face velocity boundary conditions on the lea side of your fan object. See the example I created at the following link: http://CFD.TITANAlgorithms.com The fan model demonstrated on this page shows that a uniform swirl that can be created with just a small dedicated setup of control surfaces to create the swirl. If you are interested in the model, I would be happy to provide it for you. Kind Regards, DSS www.TITANAlgorithms.com |

Wow, nice response!
The swirl is a function of the operating point of the fan, at high flow rates the proportion of swirl to axial velocity is reduced. This is all related to the fan efficiency curve. |
