Question about RANS

Hi,

Turbo machinery is turning when we operate it. So it should be transient fluid behavior. But why we often still use RANS to solve it?

using RANS is correct for flows that are statistically steady (no matter of the transient phase), otherwise you can use URANS, as done in the engine cycle where you have a forcing that is periodi in time
