Default catalysis in hypersonic flow

Hello, I have just started a new project looking at catalysis in the recombination of molecules after a shock wave. I am totally new to the field so I am looking for some basic starting pointers or advice. Is it possible to model dissociation after a shock wave and catalysis in an existing code? Any advice at all would be much appreciated! Thanks Sile
