Quantum mechanics plus CFD

Does anyone have success stories on the use of QM plus CFD in the study of chemical reactions, like solid-fluid reactions where QM is ised to unravel the reaction mechanism and CFD to study the reaction in an actual reactor? I am a QM practitioner who wants to start talking about full scale plants rather than just electrons and atoms, so I want to study CFD. How long will it take me to get 'up to speed' with CFD?

This is a little strange for me....QM can be applied to microscale system, CFD is Macroscale....
I think Navier-stokes equations assume "continuity of the media"...while QM thinks in term of probability of presence of a particle.....So I do not see how we can couple them. I am interested by this subject, can you provide some papers which link QM and CFD? |

Hi
This is quite possible, in fact, people in my institution are working on it. They are working on Quantum Information System, the initiative for Quantum Computer and they want to apply their methods to Turbulence, which is better understood using statistics and probability. Learning CFD doesn't take too much of time if you know the basics of fluid mechanics. Vinod Dhiman |
