Calculation of added mass in viscous flow

How can we calculate added masses terms for an underwater object, like submarine or torpedo in a vicous flow? is there any sofware capable of computing those? do you remeber any new articles concerning calculating of added mass of a torpedo like body in a viscous flow?

Hi kharati,

How do you similate the torpedo mass, at present? If it is treated as a lumped mass, say via density, then perhaps you could consider increasing the density to accomodate the mass change. If the mass-change is to be localised, then you may have to model the torpedo as a group of linked masses & alter the one due to mass-addition effects...

Have fun...

Hi,Diaw do anyone remember articles concerning calculation of added mass of a torpedo like body in a viscous fluid flow?
