CFD analysis of the built environment

I am currently beginning work on a senior thesis that will involve the analysis of the mechanical systems in a building design. I have had some exposure to CFD analysis in previous work experience and would like to possibly incorporate some of the analysis into my thesis. I am, for most purposes, starting from scratch and would appreciate any information that you could forward regarding CFD work and other informational resources. I am also looking for information on applicable software programs, vendors, and obtaining these products for academic applications. Thank you for your time.

Re: CFD analysis of the built environment

I'm with Flomerics, we sell a package called FLOVENTŪ. FLOVENTŪ is a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) package developed specifically to predict air flow, heat transfer, and species concentration in and around cleanrooms, mini-environments, and buildings. FLOVENTŪ is easy to use and the solver is very robust and fast; it was designed for the typical design engineer rather than analyst with an interface that is more like a CAD tool or Microsoft's PowerPoint than a traditional CFD package.
