My company has a patent pending a Vortex Brewer for making compost tea. We are looking for help in designing the brewer in a manner most conducive to vortex action and circulation. If anyone out there is capable of consulting on the design I would like to discuss. peace

I understnad the field called fluid dynamics is where I'm to be searching. Has the physics of a container most conducive to drainage (so as to create the greatest "suckage" via the vortex in a drain) been determined?

Of more importance is the vorticity (rotation) of the fluid going into the drain. This vorticity is stretched (amplified) by conservation of angular momentum as it enters the drain. The higher the vorticity in the drain, the lower is the pressure ("suckage")as long as the flow does not go turbulent.

So has a container accomplished utmost of vorticity been determined? We have a Vortex Brewer for making compost tea under patent review. Currently we are using 10-gallon Rubbermaid buckets, PVC, and spa hose but want to make a mold before we bring it to market. It operates usinf air to create circulation via displacement. A drain is attached to a 2" PVC cross which develops into conduits that return solution to the top of the 10 gallon rubbermiad. There are air stones in the bottom of each (4) conduits displacing water to the top which encourages the drain, creating a quasi-perpetuation that wea re looking to idealize in the mold we are having made. Any ideas?

Would need to look @ a schematic to understand your design. It's undoubtably good to use a circular bucket. Probably also would be good to have the outlets of the conduits which return the solution to the top of the bucket aligned parallel to the bucket wall in the circumferential direction to induce vorticity into the solution.
