I'm currently in the process of doing a university project involving the use of the flow solver, solidworks flow simulation.
I'm struggling to find information on how it solves the RANS equations. The information I have been able to gather to date is as follows:

I'm not sure if that information is available or not. I have a feeling it is likely proprietary. If it's not in the user manual I don't think you'll find it.
On another note, I think most people experienced in CFD would tell you that the SolidWorks flow solver isn't really a serious CFD tool. I'm not saying it's necessarily bad, you just won't find too many CFD people that use it, so you probably won't get much feedback here. It seems like the number of models available is small which is probably why it isn't used that much. If you are planning on doing a lot more CFD in your career, I would start learning one of the more mainstream CFD programs. Best of luck with your project. |

Thanks for the response Chris.
Unfortunately, the only available software is solidworks. It is not giving good results and the reason I ask about the solver is so that I can give some reasoning for this. |

Feel free to post your results if you want some help interpreting possible problems.
