Volume Controls help

Hi,

I have also posted this in the Star CCM+ forum as that is the software that I am using, but it may just be more a general meshing problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to model a induction system, consisting of a pipe, a sensor and an airbox, with the area of primary interest being around the sensor. This is for my university major project.

I need a relatively small mesh both in terms of surface and volume around the sensor, but require a larger mesh in the pipe and airbox.

Ive been told I need to use volume controls, however my first attempt just made the whole model go to small mesh. This is 2% the size of the base which was 0.03m. I have managed to get it to make some difference as shown in the images, but it is not satisfactory.

Any advice on how to get this to work.

You have to open image in a new tab as there shared dropbox images.

Cheers for your help,

J
