how does the wake length depend on turbulence

Hello,

I would like to know, where I can find information about the wake length,e.g. behind a cube, depending on the turbulence intensity.

I would say, the less the turbulence intensity|turbulent kinetic energy, the longer the wake, but I am looking for an physical explanantion!?

Regards! bf

Re: how does the wake length depend on turbulence

I am not very sure abt the reason..But it can be some thing like this. When u place a bluff body in a laminar flow, lot turbulence can be observed in the wake reagion while the region away from the body(or wake) is having very low turb.( inlet turbulance value).. But when the Inlet turbulace intensity is very high, the wake turbulance reaches the state of inlet turbulace very soon.
