interface tracking methods
Could anyone please tell me where can i find good papers on interface tracking methods and also any codes based on these methods online?

Re: interface tracking methods
Interesting question. I search something similiar: a review paper which compares level set methods, volume of fluid methods and so one for free surfaces?

Re: interface tracking methods
Level set and VOF are capturing methods where the interface is captured by the use of some sort of capturing function and interface tracking are those lagrangian methods where the mesh tracks the interface moviment. The interface tracking methods suffer when we have breaks and cusps on the interface (imagine a breaking wave being tracked with a tetrahedra or hexahedra mesh...) since it's really hard to track a mesh with such behavior. Furthermore, interface tracking are much more expensive than interface capturing which are realtively easy to implement without any kind of meshing work. Thus, I guess the research community has been adopting capturing methods much more than tracking methods: implementation easiness, flexibility, small computational effort and, in some cases, accuracy. It would explain the lack of works in this area...

Re: interface tracking methods
check a short review paper about the interface tracking and capturing, see the 12th paper.

Dear Kim, this seems to be exactly what I searched! Thank you very much. Best regards Joe
