Looking to purchase a CFD seat, but a little unnerved of the fact that there is no forum for any Hyperworks (Altair) products. Is this a sign of people's general consensus of the software's capabilities? Does anyone have any experience with Acusolve or other Hyperworks software?

Hi Lazarus. We will mostly use the code for small propeller analysis / design and internal flows (air cooling, liquid cooling, exhaust flow analysis.) AcuSolve seemed to provide an accurate solution to a propeller analysis in the low Reynolds region (below 50,000 at some areas of the prop.) This is very important to us since the Reynolds numbers we see are typically below 500,000, sometimes below 100,000.
It makes a little nervous, however, that I don't see much discussion on the internet about AcuSolve. Maybe that is because Altair renamed it when they purchased it? Thank you for the response. |

Hi,
We are having a conversation with the administrators of CFD Online to create a forum for Acusolve in CFD online. I believe soon we will start it. Acusim, the company that was developing Acusolve, became part of Altair at the start point of the sales of the code ( i think that the sales started middle of 00) , that is why you will not be able to find a lot in the internet. Altair invest on Acusolve, hire many AE all over the world, making several trainings etc. Soon you will se much more Acusolve discussions About your question, the FEA approach that Acusolve use are ideal to solve low Reynolds numbers even less than 50k.
