turbulence length scale?

Hello,

I am using a non-commercial LES code and need to calculate free-stream turbulence length scale. I know the theory (i.e. the spacial correlation concept) but I need some hints on how to implement and output the data for length scale calculation. Anyone could help please?

Hi,
in turbulence there are more than only one characteristic scale ... what do you want to know, Kolmogorov, Taylor, integral scale?

thanks, for free-stream turbulence I think we are concerned with integral scale, I would also appreciate any hints on other scales though.

I suggest a reading of such topics in the book of Pope
