Hi all,
I have time series plot for individual components of the velocity at a point. I want to get a velocity spectra out of it. I used xmgrace's Fourier Transform tool to get the DFT from the plot (with the transients removed).
But I am unsure about the units on the axis and the procedure i am following. I want to get the x-axis in frequency. I am using the instantaneous values of velocities.

I am unsure if I should use the velocity fluctuations, then get the turbulent kinetic energy and then perform the DFT. Please comment.
