Reg: Viewing the propagation of Acoustic waves

Hi,

I am working on Acoustic model in Fluent.. I have got the results consists of Edge tone frequency. And I can produce the velocity contours, pressure contours, density contours in mpeg and picture formats for various time steps. Now my question is, How should I view the propagation of acoustic waves in a similar manner like I view the pressure and velocity contours ?

It is important to me.. So plz reply as soon as possible..

I am not sure to get fully your question.... the Euler model tell you that acustic waves are associated to eigenvalues V+a, V-a, thus you can use your base velocity, pressure and density (produced by Fluent) to deduce the D'Alembert exact solution. If the linear model is not suitable in your case, acustic wave can be seen in the full compressible NS model by looking at pressure field...

reg: incompressible flow and compressible flow in acoustic model

Hi,

I have successfully achieved the correct experimental results when I use incompressible air in fluent FWH acoustic model. but when I use compressible air for Mach greater than 0.3 am not getting good results. and in ur reply, u said acoustic wave propagation can be seen by looking at the pressure field in full compressible navier stokes eqn. since am not getting good results in compressible flow, how should i see the acousitc wave propagation in incompressible flow ?? and how to achieve good results same as in compressible flow ??
