Simulation of air vortex through atmosphere
 
wanted your suggestion on the following problem that I have been working on.
I am trying to simulate the flow of vortex rings through the atmosphere, from sea level to the higher atmosphere i.e. low earth orbits. I have gained access to a GITM code for the upper atmosphere (above 80 kms). I am also going through AGCMs for the lower atmosphere and am trying to understand the most common atmospheric phenomena that may affect the vortex ring in its path through the lower atmosphere.

Could you please suggest any alternative to the above mentioned method that I can try out? Also, could you please tell me about some of the atmos. phenomena which may affect the path of the vortex ring the most?

Also any suggestions regarding the expansion of the GITM code will be really helpful. Currently, I am thinking of making subroutines for the lower atmos. till 80 km and creating a bash file for them. Then, the output of these subroutines will be considered as input for the GITM. If these method is flawed, please let me know. Also, please suggest me an alternative approach that I can try out.

interesting problem :)
Unfortunately I have no experience in such field, I have also some doubt that the continuous form of the equations makes still sense at 80km ... I don't know if you can suppose a vortex dynamics at such quote...
