Hi
i am carrying out CFD analysis on a valve and i would like to use a material of OIL as the fluid body. i have already carried out simulations with water and air, can anyone tell me were i can find the properties of oil (ie density 918kg/m³) in the materials library as at the moment this has me stumped. Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance |

Hi,
Here can be some thing near to the density you have, I hope it helps. http://www.greatlakesoil.com/products/2358-data.pdf I am modeling the oil with the density 895, and since I needed some other properties such as Specific heat capacity and thermal expasivity (probably you need also) which I could not find any where for the oil that I am currently modeling I used the data for another oil which I modeled before with the density 872. I think there sould not be a considereble difference (I am not sure). Cp = 1954 j/kgK Thermal expansivity = 0.0007 1/K |
