Hi Guys,

I have to ask this any help would be great! I am looking to calculate the invariant map III-II for a RANS against the DNS data here:

http://torroja.dmt.upm.es/channels/d...es/Re2000.prof

however I need the Reynold's stress. Unfortunately I am unsure as to how to calculate this from the available data (the headers have confused me! <- annoyed in myself!)

Best wishes,

Jack

The Reynolds stresses in the file are:

u'+, v'+, w'+, uv'+, uw'+ and vw'+.

A simple plot of these quantities will certify this.

Hi, just incase anyone else has this question they are the RMS (root mean square) values of u_i u_j, called the turbulence intensities by the authors (but intensity is typically divided by U) - so to get the Reynold's stresses simply square the values

ps. sbaffini - I thought they were Reynold's stresses at first too!
