my own models for heat
Dear all,
If I have my own models/equations for calculating heat. how to add it in the CFD software ? example :in Autodesk. Can anybody explain me? I am student of PhD. wanted to do my own simulations. More explanations: I am trying a heat effect simulation on my created body (using a Autodesk CDF/inventor). where heat is purely a resistive model by electrical representation. I want to calculate that resistance models, and how can enter these ( resistive "R" models) my own equations in Autodesk and Autodesk should be able to give me the heat diagrams , after calculating these equations. Is this possible ? Pls advice. any replies on these are highly appreciated. Many Thanks Chandra |
I don't have Autodesk experience but I know what you're talking about when you mention heat resistance, R.
Generally in any/most CFD solvers you can enter a thermal resistance. For example for heat flow through a solid slab: R [m K/W] = Thickness / Thermal conductivity However to enter this in CFD you'd need to specify the inverse of R, which is commonly referred to as the heat transfer coefficient, Alpha [W/m K]. Yes you can enter a resistance, in terms of a heat transfer coefficient. I'd be suprised if any solver will give you a heat transfer resistance diagram. |
Dear RicochetJ,
Thanks alot for your quick help. Kudos to you. Best Regards, Chandra |
