Hi,

May I ask why hybrid grids choose hexa grids near the wall?

In what case do we use hybrid grids in industry?

Because hexa grids resolve flow better than tetra. Therefore in the vicinity of walls, we prefer hexa grids.

Hybrid is preferred due to high accuracy in resolving boundary layer flow and flexibility of tetra mesh in far feild. Tetra mesh also uses less no of nodes in farfield.
