Exact Riemann solver

Hi guys, I'm a CFD-newbie currently playing with Euler equations and the stuff around. At the moment doing some shock tube and de Haller tests in 1D and 2D. I've developed some codes for myself, download and modified some others and would have a couple of (possible stupid) questions: 1. How do an exact (iterative) Riemann solver recognizes straight and converging/diverging/variable area pipe? I've found some two on he web, both are slightly different (in the way they're programmed, both use secant method) and nowhere in them a pipe diameter is stated... (at least I have not found it (yet))

2. Is there a 2D exact Riemann solver???

Re: Exact Riemann solver

in a 2D case the convective flux appearing in the Euler system of equation is the vectorial F scalar the normal of the surface on which this flux is computed so in a direction normal to the surface the problem of the flux calculation reduces to a 1D problem!
