Hi,
I am using vof method to analyzing of liquid thin film, When i am using two phase flow, unsteady, and implicit body force. When simulation running its showing reverse flow in diffferent phases. I am confused i am correct way or not. any body can help me pls. My 2d model geometry is 40mm inclined plate, geometry made in Gambit, where two phase liquid and Gas which are flowing parallel flow, Boundary condition are liquid inlet( velocity inlet) gas inlet (pressure inlet), mass flow(Pressure Outlet) I have considered low Reynolds number, Surface Tension, Gravitational force. Is there any which I have to consider, and any necessary information please give details. I dont want to heat transfer effect.
thank you very much
Saman

my problem is the same to you ,what is the other condition other than you have discussed?

Default I meet the same problem about the reverse flow.

Hi,I am glad to find you answer the question,I have the same problem,I want to put the image of my model to this forum, but when I try klick the icon upside, it cannot ,I do not know what is the reason ,if you are convinent,I can send to your e-mail.My model is a 2-dimension rectangle channel, the water film falls from upside by one wall, it's condition sets a constant velocity, the gas inlet and the wall sets as a no slip wall. The side contrary to the wall and the outlet sets as a pressure outlet conditon with a default setting.I use the VOF model ,the velocity -pressure equation use the PISO method ,Geo-reconstruction is used,I monitor the mass flow rate of the outlet ,the average mass flow rate is equally to the inlet, but in the simulation, the reverse flow always exists anytime. After I analysis , I think it is not reasonable ,can you help me find the problem, thank you very much.my e-mail is hitzhwan@163.com

I recommen:
- simplify your case to the point where it ist simplest but shows your isue.
- after allclear zip the case and store it togehther with some explaining pictures at an internet store
- link it here.
