hi I look for a validation case for a subsonic flow inside a S shaped duct. If it's possible, the case should be in 3D and with a speed around 100m/s. thank you for your help francois

See if this helps any -

http://www.grc.nasa.gov/www/wind/valid/sduct/sduct.html

They also give a link to the experimental data that might be of use.

the problem is that is in 2D, do you know some link for 3D cases?

Francois,

I can provide you with a paper where different turbulence models were compared for the prediction of the flow in a S-shaped duct in 3D. The reference is:

CH. HIRSCH & A. KHODAK (1995). 'Application of Different Turbulence Models for Duct Flow Simulation with Reduced and Full Navier-Stokes Equations'. ASME paper No. 95-GT-145, ASME TURBO EXPO' 95, Houston, TX, USA, June 5-8, 1995

Comparisons are based on some experimental LDA data from Whitelaw and Yu (1993).

If you need this paper, just let me know by e-mail.

Bruno

Actually that is a 3D case - they ran a 180 deg. section of it.
