How to model diffusers for HVAC simulations

Dear Group,

I have been fighting with this issue for while. Specifically: what is the best way to model air diffusers in order to capture sufficiently well the penetration of the jet in the space. If no care is taken, usually the jet dies a few cells next to the inlet boundary condition.

This problem arises when you are dealing with very big spaces for which the size of the diffusers is very small compared to the overall size and you do not have enough resources to add million of cells in the area around the diffusers.

I have found these two papers that answer this question and hopefully will help others.
