CFD ACE

Hi Guys, I saw a short demo of CFD ACE and think is a quite good product. Has anybody experience on it for real cases? Is it expensive in terms of CPU? Thanks!! Micaela

Dear Micaela,

Iam working in the validation of CFD ACE+ 2007 Beta releases. My personal experience also rate it a better product. Its in a good multiphysics product of its own kind.

Ya compared to other FVM codes, its a bit costly.Dunno exactly.Feel free to ask any query related to that.

thanks, Deepak Thirumurthy

Re: CFD ACE

CFD-Ace pricing is not bad. In my experience it is roughly similar to other products, possibly a little lower, depending on the additional modules you may need. The base level license gives you the ability to run two processes at the same time, so you can do two simultaneous runs, or do some meshing or post-processing while running, which adds quite a bit to the value. Further value is added by the fact that its meshing program (CFD-Geom) is definitely one of the best hexahedral meshers around. It also does tetrahedral, but it is in hexahedral where it shines. The post-processor (CFD-View) is also one of the very best.

Thanks Charles. Do you use it in industrial problems? How's the accuracy of results? Is it able to treat moving meshes, as far as you know? Thanks again Micaela

Re: CFD ACE

Dear Olivetti,

Ya regarding the moving meshes,it has a special capability called Chimera Methodology for dynamic mesh. Its also one of the best.

CFD ACE is very popular in semiconductor, fuel cells and micro fluidics..i know few customers who r using this code very well for industrial applications...

Thanks, Deepak

Thank you very much for all your information. It seems to me that CFD ACE is really a good product. Micaela

Definitely better than fluent as far as fuel cell and microfluidics are concerned. Fluent does not even give a tutorial file for its fuel cell license, I found it very surprising.
