Hi friends;
I want to know whether or not DES model in turbulence modeling can be applied in 2D or it is only 3D-turbulence model? in fact, in CFX manual it is mentioned that "2D simulation is not feasible, as turbulent structure are always 3D". but in paper "Ten Years of Industrial Experience with the SST Turbulence Model" by Menter, nothing was noted about this point, and also numerical modeling of 2D-airfoil by using SST-DES turbulence model was brought (pp. 5, Fig. 4). I can not figure it out.
