Saffman/ Lift Force in Pipe
Hi folks.
I'm trying to implement lift force in a slurry flow in a pipe with a custom code. I'm reading about the Saffman lift force and it seems that there are a lot of different corrections or interpreations on this force. Does anyone know what is the most adequate/used formula for solid-liquid flows?? I'm using this from the FLUENT manual. http://www.sharcnet.ca/Software/Flue...th/img7319.gif And I have some doubts about this one. The last term is the curl if I'm not mistaken and the previous term is a vector difference, for x, y and z. Than we will have an external product between two vectors. I'm having some doubts on how to implement it in 2D as a volume force. Do I split the equation in X and Y terms? How do I go about this?:confused: Thanks for your help. Cheers. Rui |
