Validation cases for CFD-DEM coupling

Hello,

We want to test our numerical code which has CFD-DEM coupling. Our particular interest is to test the new feature that we added to calculate the drag force. We have used correlations of Di Felice (1994). I am looking for simple test cases to validate the code. So far, I am unable to find a simple case to test this coupling. I appreciate if you can point me to some cases.

References: R. DI Felice, "The Voidage function for fluid-particle interaction systems," Int. J. Multiphase Flow 20, 153-159(1994).

Thank you

I'm afraid this kind of test case does not exist.
What you can start to dois for exemple in the case of dense fluidized bed,to try to reproduce the curve pressure drop in the bed versus inlet velocity. You should obtain a straight line and a plateau. This kind of curve is used to determine the minimum fluidization velocity. If you obtain this right shape for this characteric curve it may indicate that your code is notbad. Then after you can compare quantitavely with experiments results.
