Free CFD software?
Hallo all,
I'm in the look out for a recommended CFD software which is expected to carry out multiphics simulation of free-surface flow, heat transfer and thermodynamics(evaporation). On sourceforge I find OpenFOAM seems suitable for my application, however, there is no any tutorials or detailed examples for beginners. Could anyone recommend me any CFD software capable of conducting coupled-field simulation involving multi-phase flow, heat transfer as well as evaporation? I have both Linux and WinXP on my PC. Where could I find any tutorials for OpenFOAM? Thanks a lot in advance, juni |
Re: Free CFD software?
Both User's and Programmer's guides for OpenFOAM contain tutorials. They may not really target your need but, as a second step, numerous tutorial cases are provided with the installation. They may help you to understand how to use the code.
If your configuration is simple enough, you may want to take a look on CANTERA (I have not tested it). There are also now numerous FE environment packages for multi-physics: FreeFEM, ELMER, TOCHNOG, FEATFLOW. Try them if they fit your need. Good luck. |
