I am trying so solve Axisymmetric boundary layer flow over a cylinder of small radius. the model in 2-D flow is just a rectangular domain with L*R size. the Boundary conditions applied are as under....
Inlet: Uniform velocity U=1 m/s,V=0 No slip bc: at cylinder wall U=0,V=0 Outlet BC: pressure is zero Free stream bc: U= 1,V=0 The cylinder radius is 10 mm and the normal direction height is about 10 times that of cylinder radius. model size is 1 meter * 100 mm. the computational domain is having enough length in normal to flow direction for free stream boundary condition. I am getting solution but outside the boundary layer to free stream the velocity increses from 1.00 to 1.008 and again approaches to 1.00 ,which is not perfect from boundary layer solution point of view. which is expected to exactly 1.00 m/s. i.e in any circumstance U should not more than 1.00 m/s. Thanks in advance for in suggestion to correct it. |
