I suppose you refer to homogeneous multi-component flow instead of homogeneous multiphase flow, and multi-phase flow instead of multicomponent flow. (correct me if i'm wrong). Homogeneous multi-component flow is a type of flow we consider by assuming that all participating species making up the mixture are mixed at the molecular scale and they all share the same velocity and pressure, hence also temperature. When using this assumption, convection and diffusion are the main modes of mass transfer. On the other hand, multi-phase flow is a more complex case, since the various species are mixed at larger scales and each phase has its own solution field. hope that answers. chi |

In fact, water and oil can be either single-phase multicomponent or two-phase multicomponent (e.g. water with small oil droplets) depending on their mutual miscibility.

I really mean is that you can find multicomponent flow model and homogeneous multiphase flow model in cfx, so i 'd like to know what's difference and related examples |
