Peric Book - Comet Software

Got a hold of Peric's book. Appendix in the back includes a web page to download example code which I got.

The COMET software however is no longer available online.

Questions: 1) is COMET still available, i.e., free but limited in its capabilites? 2) If not, is there a direct replacement available? 3) Could someone direct me to a location where I could get a copy of COMET or its replacement? 4) Should I forget about COMET and use another code that will allow me to learn CFD using Peric's book?

Re: Peric Book - Comet Software

Comet is probably still available if you ask for it (www.cd-adapco.com).

Prof. Peric is now head of the solver-developement at CD-adapco and Comet and StarCD (v3) were merged into Star4.

Re: Peric Book - Comet Software

Are you sure you have source code for COMET because it was a commercial software before CD-Adapco bought it?

Re: Peric Book - Comet Software

It has never been. I got Peric's Book two years ago, I tried through the poblisher to contact the author, but failed. You can download the StarCMM instead from the CD Adapco web site, as has been posted, the COMET has been bought by CD Adapco and the technology behind COMET is included in the new product. Good Luck
