Axisymmetric Swirl

Hi,

Iam solving fluid flow in a 3D configuration having axisymmetric swirl... I created a 2D mesh in gambit and used solver model of fluent having axisymmetric swirl and I am getting quite decent results through it...But, I want to solve the same problem in CFX...AFAIK, CFX is a 3D solver so it generates axisymmetric 2D model by creating one layer thick 3D model..Does there exists some similar procedure to solve axisymmetric swirl models in CFX

2D axisymmetric model in fluent

Hi,

I read your post and was wondering whether you know how i can simulate a plain orifice atomizer in 2D. I have set the model up but when i begin the simulation it is not running. I keep getting divergence detected in AMG solver-x momentum. I have the same case in 3D and it runs fine.

Any idea what i must do to get it right? The nozzle is located along the axis, precisely at the origin.

Thanks!

Jimmy
