If you are to simulate real engines, then probably you shoud go for STAR-CD (es-ice is the mesh generator for STAR-CD for Internal Combustion Engine) because it is so widely used in the automobile companies around the world. CD has invested lots of efforts both for mesh manipulation and specific combustion models for many years. Vectis has few developers and few technical supporters. Indeed their consulting department also use STAR-CD.
