Hi

I am reading about the vortex blob technique for incompressible flow and it seems a nice approach.
Here is a reference that i am using.
http://www.rsmas.miami.edu/personal/...texmethods.pdf

Could anyone suggest additional references?
I am curious about 2 things
a) Why is the stream function vector assumed to be divergence free ?
b) Does the technique extend easily to 3D?

Are there any open source codes out there where i could learn more about the implementation ?

Thanks
