Hello,

I am trying to model a ship with free surface flow by using OpenFoam. I have a couple questions about that.

[1] If the maximum dimensions of the ship in x, y and z directions are L, W and H respectively, what should the size of my computational domain (12L in x-direction, 8W in y-direction, etc.)

[2] When we look from the top, is the ship should be at the center of the x-y plane? Or it should be closer to inlet? or outlet?

[3] How should I decide what part of H (height of the computational domain in z-axis) should be water and air (i.e. 0.6H is water depth and 0.4H is height of air).

Thank you very much for your help in advance. If you can also advice me some books or papers about this subject, I would greatly appreciate that.
