effects of compressibility
i try to understand how CFD-software, especially OpenFoam and Star-ccm+ deal with compressible flows. For example an air flow at a Mach-Number of about 0.5...
I already consulted books like Wilcox and the user guides of star-ccm+ and OpenFoam... but i did not fully understand it.
As example i will choose the standard k-epsilon-model:
Does this programs solve special equations for k and epsilon, for example favre averaged, modeled conservation and transport equations or does they just use the formulas of an incompressible case and add some correction terms or factors?
