Model flow as Laplace flow
 
Hi,

May I ask which commercial softwares provide the option to model flow as Laplace flow?

Hi Anna,

Are you referring to potential flow theory? Where the flow is assumed inviscid, incompressible and irrotational and the Navier-Stokes equations are then reduced to the Laplace equation? If so, I believe ANSYS AQWA and WAMIT may be suitable commercial solvers. Also, you may want to have a look at SeaFEM. Sorry if I misinterpreted your question!

Hi Meimei,

Yeah, I think your referring to potential flow:

The only commercial potential flow solvers that I have come across are ANSYS AQWA and WAMIT which are designed for marine/naval applications. I'm not aware of a commercial solver for aerodynamics applications. There is a solver called potentialFoam available in OpenFOAM though.
