Good night

A friend sent me an email with the news that a scientist discovered an "acceptable" solution for N.V equations.

Here is the link for the news and the paper.

Paper: http://www.math.kz/images/journal/20...21_12_2013.pdf

news(spanish): http://actualidad.rt.com/ciencias/vi...oblema-milenio

I'm considering CFD for my specialization but... what would be the future of CFD with an NV solution ?

thanks !

The paper claims to prove existence of solution under periodic boundary conditions. It does not mean that you have an analytical formula for the general solution. Still, if this turns out to be true, then it would be a major achievement. There have been claims of proofs in the past but they turned out to have mistakes, so we have to wait and see in this new claim.

There is no english translation available yet.

N-S 'Millennium problem' solution has a rather indirect relation to CFD

two remarks:

- N-S 'Millennium problem' formulated for the case of an incompressible fluid
- For 2D this problem was solved

see details here

Nice idea… to publish a paper written in whatever that language is…
