Hello,

As part of a uni project I am investigating the effects of a rope cutter on a marine propeller. A rope cutter is a device placed on the shaft infront of the prop which helps to slice through ropes and nets etc. I can model the cutter device in solidworks and then import into CFD, but what I need is either a 3 or 4 bladed propeller to test it with.

So does anyone have a solidworks or similar model of such a prop which they would be happy to let me analyse? I would be very happy to credit you for your help in the project itself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Alex

If noone else offers anything better, here's a free one:

Can you upload any pictures of the rope cutter, I'm interested in knowing what it looks like.

Hi, thanks for the link!

Here is a link to a supplier of the cutter: http://haroldhayles.co.uk/spurs-home

and attached is a photo of a cutter fitted to a Severn Class RNLI Lifeboat.
