Numberical Solution of Parabolic PDE(heat transfe)
I have been trying to solve the parabolic PDE (transient heat transfer in a cylinder) using finite difference (explict approach). It is in the form: dT/dt=d2T/dr2+(1/r)*dT/dr I always get unrealistic output. How should I consider the term (1/r)? In my case I just delt with it normally. Whenever I march in the r dimension I substitue with the corresponding value. Is this correct? If anybody came across the solution of this equation in website please help..
